Better bladder control
Leaking when you cough, laugh or lift is the main reason people come in. It is usually the first thing to improve, often within two or three sessions.
Discipline II
Retraining the muscles that govern continence, stability and posture — the deep system that decides whether relief lasts once treatment ends.
Leaking when you cough, laugh or lift is extremely common and almost never discussed. So is a core that has not come back after a birth, or a back that aches because the deep system underneath it is not holding. None of it is a normal part of ageing or of having had children, and none of it has to be lived with quietly.
This is a distinct practice rather than a sub-section of the physiotherapy, because the muscles involved are ones most people cannot consciously find. Assessment establishes what the pelvic floor and deep core are actually doing — not what they are assumed to be doing — and the programme is built from that.
Treatment combines supervised retraining with BTL EMSELLA where it is indicated: a chair you sit on fully clothed for 28 minutes, which contracts the whole pelvic floor including the deep parts voluntary exercise does not reach. It is screened for first, because pelvic floor problems have different causes and the chair is not the answer to all of them.
Consultations are in a private room with dedicated women's health facilities, with one clinician throughout.

The centrepiece
The chair that does 11,000 Kegels for you.
Leaking when you cough, laugh or lift is the main reason people come in. It is usually the first thing to improve, often within two or three sessions.
When you squeeze on your own, you only reach part of the muscle. The chair reaches all of it, including the deep parts you cannot control yourself. That is why it often helps people whose Kegel exercises have not worked.
No surgery. No medicine. No anaesthetic. No recovery time. You keep your clothes on, sit for 28 minutes, and carry on with your day.
Most people describe their life changing before their symptoms do. Going back to the gym. Travelling again. Sleeping through the night. Not checking where the nearest toilet is.

If you leak when you laugh, cough or lift something, or you cannot always reach the toilet in time, you are not alone — and you do not have to put up with it. EMSELLA is a chair. You sit on it fully clothed for 28 minutes, and it strengthens the pelvic floor muscles that control your bladder — doing the work of thousands of Kegel exercises in a single session.
How a session works
Pelvic floor problems have different causes, and EMSELLA is not the answer to all of them. The first appointment is an assessment. If something else would help you more, we will say so.
No undressing. No probes, no needles, no anaesthetic. You sit on the chair and read your phone or talk to us.
You feel a tingling, and your pelvic floor tightening and releasing on its own. It is not painful. One session does around 11,000 of these contractions.
There is no recovery time and nothing to take home. Most people have six sessions, twice a week, over three weeks.
Safety screening. EMSELLA is not suitable during pregnancy, or for patients with a pacemaker, defibrillator, metal implants such as hip replacements, or a copper coil / IUD. Your consultant will screen you before the first session.
