Overview

A treatment session is one hour of your week. What happens in the rest of it — how you sit, sleep, lift, move and load yourself — determines whether the hour holds. This is not a leaflet handed over on the way out; it is a worked-through plan built around your actual day.

The home programme is deliberately small. Long lists do not get done, and an exercise not done has no effect. We prescribe the fewest exercises that will produce the change, demonstrate each one, watch you perform it, and write it down so there is nothing to remember incorrectly.

Consider this if

  • Progress in clinic that does not hold between sessions
  • Uncertainty about which exercises to do, how many, or how often
  • A desk, a commute or a job that keeps reproducing the problem
  • Wanting to manage independently rather than attend indefinitely

What it does

Lifestyle & Home Exercise Education

A programme you will do

Short, specific and realistic. Three exercises done daily beat twelve done occasionally.

Correct technique

Each exercise demonstrated and then watched, because an exercise done incorrectly is usually worse than one not done.

Your day addressed

Workstation, sleeping position, lifting technique and commute — the parts that keep reproducing the problem.

Independence

Knowing what to do when a flare starts, so it does not become another course of treatment.

Inside a session

  1. Understand

What your day actually contains — work, travel, caring, sleep and exercise.

  2. Prescribe

The smallest effective set of exercises, with sets, reps and frequency written down.

  3. Check

Watching you perform each one and correcting it now rather than at the next visit.

  4. Plan ahead

What to do if symptoms flare, and the point at which you should come back.

Common questions

Why so few exercises?

Because adherence falls off a cliff as a list gets longer, and an exercise you skip does nothing regardless of how good it is. A short programme performed consistently outperforms a comprehensive one performed occasionally.

What if I miss days?

Tell us. The programme gets adjusted to fit the life you have rather than the one the plan assumed. A programme that does not fit is a programme that fails.

How do I know I am doing it right?

You are watched doing each one before you leave, and every exercise is written down with the cues that matter. Bring your phone if you want it recorded.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis or a treatment plan. What is right for you is decided at assessment. If your symptoms are severe, worsening quickly, or follow an injury, seek medical care first.

Not sure this is the right one?

That is what the first consultation is for. Ninety minutes of assessment before anything is recommended — including recommending nothing.
